C.E.O.
As a former Chief Legal Officer with 21 years’ experience at the C-Suite level, I have extensive proficiency in resolving complex legal issues involving multi-million lawsuits. During my tenure I spearheaded several high-profile projects, including winning one of the largest cases against the CFPB which resulted in a no finding, no consent order and no fines. I also have years of experience in highly regulated industries, particularly financial services. I have been face to face with the CFPB, DOJ, OCC, SEC, FBI and won! My experience with law has helped save my clients millions of dollars in litigation fees as well as saving their reputations long-term. Now my goal is to utilize my extensive corporate experience to provide in-house legal counsel to companies at a fraction of the cost so that my clients can run their business without their business running them. I work to understand my client’s businesses so that they can continue to grow and scale their company without legal worry or hassle.
My forthcoming book, Build a Better Boat is centered around my journey on how I went from a Chief Legal Offer of a Fortune 500 company to mental health advocate. My life journey has been an uphill battle at times, but it has worked to shape me into the person I was always meant to become. My goal is to help my clients and the audiences I speak to become better versions of themselves through my experiences. My purpose on this earth is equality for all and I strongly believe in fighting for justice and doing the right thing because we all deserve a seat at the table and to be truly heard and understood.
Aside from being a lawyer, I am also an author, keynote speaker, and fierce mental health advocate. I am passionate about mental health because I have experienced the stigma associated with it. My mission is to convey to companies the importance of recognizing and identifying ways to incorporate mental health services in the workplace as part of their employee retention strategy. I believe that when a workplace prioritizes mental health employees are more productive, are happier within their roles and they show increased favorability towards the leadership team and company.
